Welcome to Ob/Gyn!

During our eight-week clerkship, you will learn about many of the health care issues facing women today.  This will include the concerns that are associated with menstruation, conception, pathology of the female reproductive organs, and pregnancy.  We will also to introduce you to the broader concepts of primary care for women with emphasis on preventive care and periodic screening.  This will be accomplished by direct patient contact in clinics, hospital wards, operating room, and labor and delivery suites.  Also, student lectures/conferences and computer-assisted instruction will supplement the clinical education.

One the first day of your rotation, you should start by attending rounds/morning report at 7:00 am in the Student/Resident Lounge area on the 2^nd floor of Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children.  At 8:30 am, please come to Conference Room 381 on the 3^rd floor of UAB HealthCenter for a review of your assignments.
