Academic Success Programs


The Office of Medical Student Services offers academic advising, coordinates tutoring programs, performs assessments of learning styles, and gives periodic presentations on Learning Skills, Study Strategies, Test-taking skills, etc.

  • One-on-one academic advising
  • USMLE Preparation
  • Periodic lecture format presentations with general information about medical school and study techniques appropriate for a medical school learning environment.
  • Liaison between Medical Student Services, the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education, and the UAB Office of Disability Support Services/Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services.
  • Administration of learning style, and other assessment instruments
