The Geriatrics Student Interest Group (GSIG) reaches out to UASOM students interested in the growing specialty of Geriatric Medicine, from patient care to aging-related research. Through monthly meetings, GSIG allows medical students to obtain a deeper understanding of the complexities of caring for the elderly and the special needs of these patients. In collaboration with phsycians and staff from UAB's Center for Aging, GSIG brings physicians and leaders in the field of aging to speak to students at UASOM.
