The Tuscaloosa program is university based and community oriented. In addition to providing medical education and residency training in family practice, a major mission of the program is improving health care in rural and under-served areas of Alabama. Its academic programs include emphases on primary health care and health care delivery, family medicine, and community medicine. With this comprehensive experience, Tuscaloosa graduates have entered a wide range of medical specialities and subspecialties.
