Time Limits for Successful Completion of Coursework
The pre-clinical course curriculum (years 1 and 2) must be completed within four consecutive years from the time of admission to medical school. Failure to successfully complete all coursework in years I and 2 within the 4-year time limit will constitute sufficient grounds for dismissal from medical school. Successful completion of year 2 includes the USMLE Step 1 examination.
Clinical Science course curriculum (years 3 and 4) must be accomplished within three years from successful completion of USMLE Step I. Inability to complete all of the Clinical Science coursework required for graduation within the 3-year time limit will constitute sufficient grounds for dismissal.
For students who fail to academically progress during the time periods stipulated above, the decision to dismiss the student will be determined by the promotion committee.
