The MSMC “Outstanding Resident” Award is given to a 3rd year resident from the UAB Montgomery Internal Medicine Residency Program and a 3rd year resident from the Montgomery Family Practice Residency Program. This award is in honor of outstanding performance by a 3rd year resident during his/her residency.

Dr. Srilatha (Sri) Nadipineni is a graduate of Osmania Medical School, one of the most prestigious institutions in her native India. Sri joined the UAB Health Center Montgomery in the summer of 2006 and immediately established herself as an excellent clinician, possessing remarkable leadership qualities. She was recognized by her peers as the Terry Hale Intern of the Year for academic year 2006-2007. As a PGY2 resident, she was a member of the program’s Medical Jeopardy team, which defeated teams from UAB, Carraway, Birmingham Baptist, and South Alabama at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Alabama Chapter, American College of Physicians. Sri, along with her colleagues, will represent the state of Alabama at the national ACP competition being held this spring. Because of her superb professionalism and teaching skills, she was selected as Co-Chief Resident for academic year 2008-09. She will begin a Nephrology fellowship at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia in July, 2009.
Sri has served on the program’s residency Executive and Curriculum Committees. She has also been a member of the Institutional Review Board and the Emergency Medicine Committee at Baptist Medical Center South.
