If you plan to apply for federal financial aid for next year (Fall 2007), it is time to get started. Visit our website at www.uab.edu. Click on Current Students and then Financial Aid. There will be a link for the federal form (FAFSA). Select the 2007-2008 FAFSA and file electronically. If you completed a 2006-2007 FAFSA, you should be able to fill out the shorter Renewal FAFSA using your pin number. Beginning in 2007-2008, the Office of Student Financial Aid will no longer have an institutional application (Financial Aid Data Sheet). UAB is moving to a new student system for 2007-2008 and all required financial aid documents will be submitted via the new UAB portal, BlazerNET. Information about the required forms for financial aid will be available on the financial aid section of this portal in mid-February. You will receive more information about BlazerNET in the very near future. You must complete a new application each academic year. Our priority deadline for complete and accurate applications is April 1, 2007. Please don't delay. Avoid long lines and busy phones next summer. Apply now!!
