The UAB Home-Based Cognitive Stimulation Program provides activities to use with individuals following their brain injury. These activities are designed to assist the individual in recovery of their thinking skills.

Caregiver’s Guide to Self-Health: Solving Problems and Reducing Stress Caregiver’s Guide to Self-Health is an interactive program is designed to offer caregivers 3 techniques to help improve their health and quality of life by solving problems and reducing stress.



The University of Alabama at Birmingham Traumatic Brain Injury Model System (UAB-TBIMS) is one of 16 national TBI Model System Centers working to maintain and improve a cost-effective, comprehensive service delivery system for people who incur a traumatic brain injury. The UAB-TBIMS is supported by grant #H133A070039 from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, U.S. Dept of Education, Washington, DC.

UAB was also designated by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) as a member of the TBI Clinical Trials Network in September, 2002.
