Traumatic Brain Injury Basics: Causes, Mechanisms, and Cognitive/Behavioral Consequences
This video will highlight the unique nature of traumatic brain injury and its cognitive and behavioral consequences. A focus will be placed initially on the epidemiology and causes of TBI, followed by an examination of the neuroanatomic and neurophysiologic changes that are commonly associated with TBI. The types and functional implications of cognitive and behavioral problems often experienced by persons with TBI will then be discussed, along with recovery expectations.
