Research Interest
Dr. Dean’s research focuses on the processing-structure-property relationships of polymers and multiphase polymer systems including nanocomposites, blends and fiber-reinforced composites.

• High temperature thermoset polymer nanocomposites
• Process development for high temperature composites
• Nanoscopic fibers by electrospinning
• Biodegradeable polymer blends and nanocomposites
• Multiscale, mutifunctional polymeric composites
• Matrix development for fiber reinforced composites
• Morphological, rheological and thermal analysis of polymers
