Experience
Professor Green has served in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering since 1981 and previously taught at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He has published more than 20 technical papers and reports.
Professor Green is the IEEE Student Branch Counselor. He is an active IEEE member presently serving on the Regional Activities Board of the Institute and as its treasurer serves on the Institutes Financial Committee. He is member of the IEEE New Initiatives Committee and the IT Strategy Committee.
He has made contributions in IEEE's effort to create a career guidance system for undergraduate engineering students as well as numerous other projects in Regional Activities and Technical Activities in IEEE including entity web hosting, electronic conferencing, and on-line web databases. He is presently assisting the UAB IT organization in their operation and improvements of Active Directory services. Professor Green co-teaches the team senior design course that creates contest entries for the Region 3 Student Hardware Competition. Professor Green was name Engineer of the Year for 2004 by the Alabama Section of IEEE.
Research Interest
David Green's research interests include software design methodologies, embedded computer systems, collaboration technologies and methodologies, computer networking, and engineering education.
