UAB International Scholar and Student Services is responsible for sending the immigration document needed (Form I-20 or Form DS2019) for you to acquire a visa or maintain immigration status while living in the United States. Immigration documents will be mailed only after you have been admitted to UAB as a degree-seeking student and after you submit the following documents:
- an affidavit from your financial sponsor showing willingness to pay your expenses;
- an original bank statement from your sponsor’s financial institution showing the balance (in U.S. dollars) in your sponsor’s bank account; and
- an immigration transfer clearance form verifying your legal status (required only for students transferring to UAB from within the U.S.).
