The UAB International Mentoring Program assists International Scholar and Student Services by providing valuable information about UAB, Birmingham, and the United States to incoming international students. Chosen in early February each year, this dedicated group of students plays a crucial role in helping new international students make the best of their new environment.
To better meet the needs of international students, International Mentors follow a thorough training that involves leadership and cross-cultural communication skills. They must be able to introduce and guide new students through departmental, campus, and community resources.
The UAB International Mentoring Program is a joint effort between International Scholar and Student Services and Student Life.
