
To apply to UAB, prospective international students must submit the following items:
Application Form and Fee: Submit a completed UAB application and a $30 nonrefundable application fee (check or money order payable in U.S. dollars). For more information and an online application, see “Complete an International Student Application” on the To Do List. You must declare a major on your UAB application (section 10) to obtain the immigration document for your student visa.
Secondary School Evaluation: Request a document-by-document evaluation and a grade point average (GPA) computation from either evaluation agency listed below. Request that a copy of the completed evaluation be sent directly to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Secondary School Evaluation with Advanced Academic Programs: You may be eligible to receive high school equivalency and some transferable undergraduate college credit. If applicable, request a course-by-course evaluation as well as a GPA computation. Request that a copy of the completed evaluation be sent directly to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
ACT/SAT Score: If you have no college work or have attended college for less than one year, you must submit official ACT or SAT scores. UAB requires a minimum ACT score of 20 or a minimum SAT combined score of 950 (critical thinking + math). You should contact the appropriate testing agency and request that it send your official scores to UAB Undergraduate Admission.

TOEFL Results: An official TOEFL score is required if English is not your native language. You must have a minimum score of 500 on the written examination, or a score of 173 on the computer-based version, or 61 on the Internet-based version. The score you submit should not be more than two years old. The agency listed below can provide details on the TOEFL.
