Some courses require you to take a placement test before you can register. These tests are designed to measure your level of knowledge on a particular subject. With the results, you and your academic advisor can determine which UAB courses offer you the best chances for success.
- Incoming UAB freshmen must take all necessary placement tests during New Student Orientation.
- Incoming transfer students must take all necessary placement tests before attending New Student Orientation.
- You must bring a picture I.D. and a #2 pencil to all tests.
- If you have registered with Disability Support Services and are eligible to receive academic accommodations, schedule your placement tests through the testing center at (205) 934-5503 or placetest@uab.edu.
See the Placement Testing Web site (www.uab.edu/testing) for more information about which tests you are required to take.
