UAB strongly recommends that you make an individual appointment to meet with your academic advisor before you attend New Student Orientation. It’s your chance to discuss your goals and start developing an educational plan to reach them. Ask questions about potential majors, degree requirements, and the classes you should enroll in during your first semester. Your advisor will also tell you what placement tests you need to take at New Student Orientation.
