The Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science at UAB is the only program of its kind in Alabama and one of only a few in the nation.
It is a full-time graduate degree program with two plans for degree completion: Professional Entry and Advanced Professional.
NOTE: Beginning with the summer semester of 2008 and forward, the Clinical Laboratory Science Program will no longer be accepting applicants for the advanced professional plan.
Professional Entry Plan
The professional entry plan is designed for students who hold a Bachelor of Science in biology, chemistry, or a related major, and who are not certified medical technologists but desire a career in medical technology. These students will be eligible to take a national examination for certification as a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist once they have completed the program.
