B.S. Health Sciences (BS)
SHRP05/HSA: Student studying
The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) Program is the only program of its kind in the state of Alabama. The program is designed to develop the industry knowledge and job skills needed by mid-level managers in health care organizations. Some students use the degree as entry to graduate programs, while others use it as their terminal degree.

Three curriculum options are available based on the student’s previous academic work, current professional status, and personal interests.

Pre-professional Degree Track
Students whose academic goal is completion of a master’s level health professions program, such as physical or occupational therapy, health administration, or health informatics should apply for admission to the pre-professional degree track. Students complete pre-requisite coursework for their chosen master’s degree while also working toward the BSHS.

Clinical Manager Track
Students who are currently licensed or certified in a health profession at the associate degree level apply for admission to the clinical manager track. These students may apply credit from their technical degrees toward the BSHS degree.
