Peter M. Ginter, Ph.D., is Chair and Professor in
the Department of Health Care Organization and Policy, School of Public
Health, and Professor in the Department of Management, School of Business.
He is also currently a Senior Scholar in the
Lister
Hill Center for Health Policy in the School of Public Health at the
University of Alabama at Birmingham. Pete has served as President of the
Southwest Federation of Administrative Disciplines and is active in the
North American Case Writers Association. Prior to coming to U.A.B. he was
on the faculty of the University of Arkansas. Ginter received outstanding
teaching awards at the University of Arkansas and the University of
Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Ginter has been principal investigator on
numerous federal and state funded research grants and has served on
numerous editorial boards. Ginter is a consultant to a number of
organizations in manufacturing, health care, and service industries as
well as with government organizations in the areas of strategic
management, reengineering, and culture change. Dr. Ginter holds a
Ph.D. in organization theory and policy from the University of North
Texas. His research interests include strategic planning in government
agencies, rural health, public health agencies, and macroenvironmental
analysis. Dr. Ginter teaches courses in strategic planning.
