Curriculum Vitae
Jan Rowe, Dr.OT, OTR/L has a clinical doctorate in occupational therapy from NOVA Southeastern University, a master's degree in public health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her BS in occupational therapy from the University of Central Arkansas. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy where she has been on faculty since 1989. Dr. Rowe teaches developmental/pediatric content in the curriculum as well as co-teaches a variety of courses with other occupational therapy faculty.
Dr. Rowe contracts to an early intervention program (Bell Center) on a monthly basis to do evaluations and treatment of babies and young children with feeding problems. She also provides monthly consultation to the UAB Huntington's Disorder Center of Excellence. She also coordinates a social skills group for adolescent females with disabilities with the assistance of occupational therapy students.
Dr. Rowe is the student occupational therapy association (SOTA) faculty representative, chairs the admissions committee for the department, and co-chairs the department curriculum committee.
