Nurse Anesthesia, M.N.A.
SHRP05/CC: Nurse Anesthesist Mask

The Master of Nurse Anesthesia Program trains students in all aspects of the nurse anesthesia practice at the graduate level allowing a registered nurse to be a certified registered nurse anesthetist.

The program is one of the largest and most respected nurse anesthesia programs in the country. Students in the program have a history of excellent pass rates on the nurse anesthesia certification exam. The program is highly ranked in the annual U.S. News and World Report "Best Graduate Schools" edition.

Nurse anesthetists are registered professional nurses who specialize in anesthesiology. They administer anesthesia to all types of patients within the health-illness continuum. Most nurse anesthetists are employed by hospitals, clinics, or physicians. Some are self-employed, in group practice, or in military service. Provisions of 24-hour "on call" service, ease of geographic mobility, opportunity to sub-specialize and good salaries are typical characteristics of employment for our graduates.

The application deadline for Fall 2012 admission is September 1, 2011. GREs must be taken prior to August 1st for scores to be reported before the deadline. If the GRE is taken after August 1st, scores cannot be obtained until after November.
