HSA Programs
The Department of Health Service Administration offers two undergraduate programs, three masters programs, and one doctoral program. All of these programs are designed to meet the needs of different aspects of the health care industry.
Undergraduate Programs
B.S. in Health Care Management
This program is designed for mid-level health care managers and provides career progression opportunities for graduates of associate degree health professions programs.
B.S. Health Information Management (BS)
The UAB Health Information Management Program prepares its graduates to evaluate and improve the quality of health information resources.
Master's Programs
M.S. Health Administration - Residential (MSHA)
This program trains students for careers as senior-level health services executives in management and leadership positions.
M.S. Health Administration - Executive (MSHA)
The M.S. in Health Administration degree is also offered through an executive format designed to meet the educational needs of practicing managers, physicians, and other health care professionals.
M.S. Health Informatics (MSHI)
This program prepares senior and executive level managers to fulfill the information needs of health services organizations through the planning, management, design, integration, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and administrative information systems.
Ph.D. Program
Ph.D. Program in Administration-Health Services
The Ph.D. program prepares graduates to pursue careers in health administration teaching and research.
D.Sc. Program in Administration-Health Services - Executive
The executive doctoral program is designed to meet the needs of practicing exeuctives who wish to pursue a terminal degree (D.Sc.) while maintaining their executive responsibilities.
