Laura Wright is an assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she also received her Masters degree in Nurse Anesthesia in 1996. She accepted a faculty appointment in May of 2002 after 6 years of clinical experience of giving anesthesia to a variety of surgical populations including cardiovascular, pediatric, obstetric, neuro, orthopedic, ENT, transplant, and gynecological. Mrs. Wright has been an invited lecturer at the Alabama Associations of Nurse Anesthetists state meetings, and has lectured to nurses within the state of Alabama. Mrs. Wright has had a an article titled “Haloperidol: An Alternative Butyrophenone in the Treatment and Prevention of Nausea and Vomiting” accepted for publication in the AANA Journal. She is also a co-author in the text book “Nurse Anesthesia”. Special areas of educational interest include obstetrics and pharmacology.
