About Cell Biology
The Department of Cell Biology is one of eight Joint Health Science departments in the UAB Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. As of 2008, the Department has 30 primary faculty members. The major goals of our Department are to sustain our excellence in research and graduate training, as well as to provide outstanding professional teaching to medical, dental and optometry students. The Department of Cell Biology was recently awarded one of six "Annual Quality Allocations" from the School of Medicine Dean's Office.  As a note, this is the second year in a row the Department has been awarded this recognition.
