Since it's inception in 1991, the Samuel B. Barker Sculpture competition, has brought numerous artists to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where their art enriches our lives and enhances the campus. A competition such as this provides wonderful opportunities to augment a growing outdoor sculpture collection while simultaneously serving to educate our students and regional art viewing audience.
