THE PROFESSIONAL ARTIST SEMINAR
This course is designed to assist students of Art in developing a professional approach to careers as artists. The course will focus on the many issues and procedures helpful to the artist in developing a personal philosophy and approach to supporting, organizing, documenting, promoting, and exhibiting art. Subject matter for this course will include the development of an artist statement, resume, preparation of visual materials, utilizing the internet, creating a web site, seeking grants, artist residency opportunities, graduate school admission, gallery representation, marketing and other important skills necessary for thriving in a highly competitive field.
The course is now a requirement of the BFA degree and strongly advised for those in the BA program.
