William C. Cockerham (Professor, Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley). Professor Cockerham specializes in the study of cross national or international aspects of health, with broader interests in the general field of medical sociology, aging, and the sociology of mental illness. He has completed a study of health lifestyles in Russia and Eastern Europe and is currently preparing manuscripts on a similar project in Japan. Additionally, he is author of a widely-adopted textbook on medical sociology.
