If you do not have a BlazerID, please read the instructions at http://www.uab.edu/irb/2009 to see whether you need the course, and how to register if you do.

I registered online, but where do I go for the class?

How many questions are on the exam?
The quiz consists of 48 true/false and multiple choice questions.

Is it a timed test?
The quiz is not timed.

Can I stop and come back to finish the quiz or the course later?
Yes. Until you click "Finish," you can come back to the quiz and the answers you "Saved" will still be saved.
If you leave the course, it will remember which slide you were on.

If I am current with my IRB training through 2008, do I have until December 2010 to complete training?
Yes.

I did training in 2008, and I've already done a continuing course during 2009. Do I need this course?
Yes. The online course on informed consent is the only course that is approved for continuing IRB training in 2009. It is also the only course approved for credit in 2010, but you only need to complete it once for the period 2009-2010.

My training records don’t show up in BlazerNET when I register. What do I do?
Check IRB e-reports to ensure the IRB has a record of your initial training. If your record in BlazerNET does not show all your training that's in e-reports, contact Fredia Fuller Dillard (eteacher@uab.edu) or the Office of the IRB (934-3789, irb@uab.edu). Provide your full name and BlazerID, we will verify your record, and you should be able to register within 2-3 days.

Are all questions on the test the same for each person or does it relate to the protocol you are on?
The questions are the same for everyone. The order of the questions and the order of the correct answers change for each person.

Did all employees on campus receive the email notice about the course?
No. The email was sent to people who are listed on an active protocol reviewed by the UAB IRB.

How long has the 2009-2010 training been on the IRB web site?
The informed consent course was first made available on November 3, 2009.
