2009 Cell Biology Retreat

The 2009 Cell Biology Departmental Retreat took place at Lake Guntersville State Park in Northern Alabama, starting in the morning of Saturday September 19th and ending in the afternoon of Sunday September 20th. The schedule includes social events, talks, a poster presentation and Saturday night post-dinner keynote address by Dr. Max Cooper, a world-renowned immunologist who spent many years at UAB and is now at Emory University. Dr. Cooper’s lab has recently made numerous exciting discoveries regarding the evolution of the vertebrate immune system. He gives an outstanding talk.
The main goal of the retreat is for everyone to get updated on the research that is carried out in the different laboratories of the Department. An essential part of this process is that every laboratory is represented in talks and poster presentations.
