  • Congratulations to Cell Biology professor Dr. Elizabeth SztulFor the May 2009 issue of the ASCB Newsletter, Dr. Sztul wrote the "Women in Cell Biology" feature article, describing her recent yearlong experience as a rotating program director for the National Science Foundation.

  • Congratulations to Assistant Professor Dr. Michael Miller. His research into signaling methodologies in the C. elegans worm was recently featured in a "Your Health" segment on the Fox6 evening news.  Click here to watch the report.

  • Congratulations to faculty member Dr. Laura Cotlin.  Dr. Cotlin recently recieved a School of Medicine Argus Award from the class of 2001 as "Best Introductory Module: Fundamental I" and "Best Introductory Module Director." In addition, faculty members Dr. Jim Collawn, Dr. George Salter, and Dr. Shane Tubbs were nominated for "Best Lecturer." 
  • Congratulations to Subhashini "Pria" Bolisetty, a graduate student in the laboratory of Dr. Anupam Agarwal.  Pria has been awarded a two-year Pre-Doctoral Fellowship from the American Heart Association for her grant "Site-specific Overexpression of Heme Oxygenase-1 in Acute Kidney Injury."
  • Congratulations to Stephen Jordan, a graduate student in the laboratory of Dr. Julian Rayner. Stephen won the Department of Medicine's Samuel B. Barker Award for his presentation of "Determination of the Optimal Domain for Inclusion in a PfMSP3-based Malaria Vaccine."
