Dr. Louis is an associate professor and director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Residency Training Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Louis earned his dental degree in his home state at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry and his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his residency at UAB and has been a faculty member since 1990. Dr. Louis is course master for several graduate and undergraduate-level courses in the UAB School of Dentistry and serves on many local and national committees.

Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Louis’s areas of clinical interest include dental implants, aesthetic surgery, orthognathic surgery, pathology, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ), trauma, and reconstruction. He has authored several articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals and related textbooks. His commitment to teaching and his talent in the field make him a well-respected professor and surgeon.
