Annual Stipends
Stipends are renegotiated in July of each year by the UAB House Staff Council and are subject to annual increases over the period of your residency training.

- Financial support for presentation at a scientific meeting, i.e. AAN
- Educational Stipend of $1000 for the PGY-2 year and additional $500.00 for PGY-1, PGY-3, and PGY-4 years. The fund is to off set educational expense for educational textbooks and tools needed.
- PDA Allowance - $300 allowance during PGY-2 year to buy Palm Pilot or Pocket PC.
- Annual membership to the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), which includes a subscription to the Journal of Neurology and Continuum

Moonlighting
The neurology house staff has a policy outlining moonlighting regulations. We allow moonlighting because of the tremendous financial burden facing today’s resident but emphasize our residents need to have ample time for reading and other neurology activities.
