MSC Education
Fellowships of one or more years are available to board eligible or certified neurologists. The program of training usually involves 60-80% clinical work and 20-40% research, either basic, clinical, or both.

A mentored preceptorship in neuroimaging can be arranged leading to qualification for examination by the American Society for Neuroimaging.

For candidates interested in clinical research, opportunities to obtain additional training in clinical trial design, epidemiology, and biostatistics exists. Fellows can also pursue a MPH or MSPH through the School of Public Health or a NIH-funded Clinical Research Training Program of the UAB General Clinical Research Center. Areas of research are described above.

Electives for U.S. medical students and neurology residents are also provided but must be handled through the UAB School of Medicine and University Hospital, respectively. Some department faculty have appointments in the graduate school and may sponsor graduate students earning their Ph.D.
