CH 100 is intended to be the preparatory course for CH 115. It covers most of the topics that we see in the first six weeks of CH 115. This is very important for students who did not take chemistry in high school, or did not learn much from it in high school, as well as those who may have taken it in high school but it has been a few years (or more) since then.
CH 105 is intended for students that need a little chemistry later (such as for nursing school and/or physiology class) but likely don't need the depth that a science major might need. It also covers the topics we see in the first month of CH 115, but also includes some other topics that may or may not interest you. CH105 would be OK as a pre-requisite for CH 115 but it might be a little more than is needed.
The decision probably depends on your future goals. If there is any doubt about what you will major in, then CH 105 might be a good choice because (and you should ask your advisor) it often counts as a science core class, whereas CH 100 does not.
Your advisor should be involved in any decision that you make. Please make sure you talk with the advisor before registering for either course.
