Current research focuses on the decision-making algorithm to choose between partial matched related vs matched unrelated donors for transplantation, prevention of mucous membrane injury from chemotherapy, women’s health issues following transplantation and the use of radioisotopes for transplants for multiple myeloma.

Dose attenuated preparation regimen transplants are being done for older patients with diseases like CML, low-grade lymphoma and multiple myeloma. A research study to determine the minimum necessary use of chemotherapy in the preparation regimen is in development.
