About Alzheimer's Disease Center

The Alzheimer's Disease Center or ADC at The University of Alabama at Birmingham was established in 1991 through a grant funded by The National Institutes of Health and The National Institute on Aging. The ADC is an interdisciplinary program of scientists working in diverse areas, including Neurology, Psychiatry, Genetics, and Psychology.

The ADC provides comprehensive treatment and promotes research for the prevention and/or cure of Alzheimer’s disease and other related disorders with memory loss and impaired cognition. The center’s over 30 staff are dedicated to making the quality of life the best possible for patients and their families while the search for a cure continues.

Patients, caregivers, and families and friends of Alzheimer’s patients are encouraged to contact the ADC with any questions, concerns, or comments.
