“Hot Diamonds in the Summer,” a fundraiser for Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama (ACA), offers ticket purchasers the possibility of winning a $5,000 jewelry-shopping spree at The Diamond Dealer. Tickets are $100 and offer not only the opportunity to splurge on new jewelry but are redeemable for a free appraisal (a $75 value) on one piece of your existing jewelry. Tickets permit two individuals to attend a reception and drawing, Thursday, August 2, at The Diamond Dealer located in downtown Homewood. Every ticket sold will be entered into the drawing and you need not be present to win.

Tickets are also available during a special event sponsored by Kevin Dobbins and Brandon Horton, of Ameriprise Financial. These two philanthropic financial advisors are hosting a separate event for ACA in support of “Hot Diamonds in the Summer.” The Ameriprise event, “Hot Diamonds, Cool Wine in the Summer time,” will be held on Thursday, July 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Summit Club.

Tickets for this event are $25 per person and include a wine tasting and heavy hors d’oeuvres with 100% benefiting ACA. Tickets for the $5,000 jewelry-shopping spree will be available and brothers John and William Bromberg will be on hand with several tempting examples of what the winner might select during their shopping spree.

Both of these events benefit Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama services, programs and research. These include respite care, scholarships for patients to attend adult day care centers and scholarships for continence supplies for more than 300 patients this year. ACA also partners with local Sheriff departments to provide Project Lifesaver bracelets, which help locate patients who have wandered from home.
