In 2006/07, the CSW hosted a pre-concert reception in conjunction with Joan Baez’s performance at the Alys Stephens Center; two healthy-living workshops on Mediterranean diet and vitamins and supplements; and two clothing drives in partnership with My Sister’s Closet at the YWCA—one to help women with appropriate professional attire and one to provide young girls with dresses for their high-school proms.
So far in 2007/08, the CSW held a third healthy lliving brownbag seminar on how to make SMART choices to "Re-design Your Life from the Inside Out. In addition, the CSW held a drawing with over 350 participants for five sets of four tickets to the Southern Women's Show. The next workshop will be held April 25 and will be sponsored by the UAB ADVANCE group. The presentation will be on "Balancing Work and Family" with a discussion on the Family Medical Leave Act policy and changes to the Tenure Clock policy.
