The National Defense Authorization Act expanded the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993 to provide new leave rights related to military service effective Jan. 16. The new leave entitlements include Military Caregiver Leave for family members of injured service members and Qualifying Exigency Leave for family members of the National Guard and Reserves.
