In celebration of Women's History Month and in recognition of outstanding women, the UAB Women's Center and the UAB Women's Studies Program will honor four local women as the UAB Outstanding Women for 2008 during a ceremony on March 20 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Green and Gold Room at Bartow Arena. Honorees are as follows:
- Pam Bounelis, Susan D. Marchase Outstanding Woman Administrator
- Belita Faki, Outstanding Woman UAB Faculty Member
- Valerie Gribben, Outstanding Woman UAB Student
- Beth Hosmer, Outstanding Woman UAB Staff Member
- Sandra Schrohenloher, Outstanding Woman in the Community
