UAB instructor's documentary on breast cancer to be screened
Article Body
UAB instructor Michele Forman, who teaches the ethnographic filmmaking class, will debut her own documentary,
Climb for the Cause: A Breast Cancer Story
during the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival Sept 28-30.
The film tells the story of five Alabama women with breast cancer who decide to transform their grueling experience with the disease into something positive for other women. They raise money and awareness about breast cancer by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, one of the world’s tallest peaks.
Climbing for the Cause
will debut in the Alabama Documentary, Block No. 1 at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Alabama Power venue.
UAB English instructor Eugene Cuevas and 16 students also will screen films during the festival.
