

The Experiential Learning Scholars Program offers students an undergraduate education that intentionally combines class work and applicable, real-life experiences. Students thoughtfully construct learning plans suited to their unique academic and career aspirations.

What is "experiential learning"?
Experiential Learning is the attainment of knowledge that results from:
· applying and testing content and information learned in the classroom to real-life situations;
· reflecting upon those experiences; and
· incorporating the newly gained understanding into ones academic and personal acumen and plans for future development.
Scholars:
· construct and implement personal development plans in areas unique to individual interests and goals;
· include experiences inside and outside the classroom;
· participate in a Freshman Learning Community designed for participants' areas of focus;and
· become involved in service, research, study abroad, internships, co-ops, mentorships, off-campus organizations, or activities in on-campus student organizations.
