Undergraduate Programs - Army ROTC

Green to Gold

The Army ROTC Green to Gold Program provides selected active duty enlisted members of the Army an opportunity to complete their baccalaureate degree requirements and obtain a commission through participation in the ROTC scholarship or non-scholarship program. Enlisted members who have completed one year of college work or the equivalent may compete for 3-year scholarships. Those who have or the completed two years of college or the equivalent may compete for 2-year scholarships or request a non-scholarship release from Active Duty. Individuals who have not attended college or have 4 academic years remaining for a baccalaureate degree may compete for a 4-year scholarship. You may have more credits than you think toward a degree at UAB! UAB recognizes up to 48 hours for technical experience and training, as well as course testing and transfer credits through the Defense Activity for Nontraditional Educational Support (DANTES) and Servicemembers' Opportunity Colleges (SOC). The Army American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) can give you an idea of how many service credits you have earned.
