July 24th - Students must arrive at Center Court by 8am
COMPETITION AREA
All students must choose a Competition Area their poster will be submitted under for judging by June 30th. You may choose your area of competition by going here. The choices are Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Math Engineering & Technology, Social & Behavioral Sciences, and Public Health. (Some of these areas may be combined, divided into sessions (e.g., Life Sciences I, Life Sciences II, etc.) or eliminated based on the number of submissions. If so, the closest related Competition Area will be assigned to the student.)
***Please Note - you will be required by the UAB Authentication System to sign in using your BlazerID and password to access the Competition Area form or the Abstract Form (You will need a BlazerId or assistance from someone who has one to access the forms). Make sure you select "...private computer" when logging in, as this will keep the system from timing out and omitting your submissions. If you do not receive a Thank You message after you have submitted any form, please contact Dr. Christopher Reaves at cwreaves@uab.edu
ABSTRACTS
Abstracts are due by noon on Friday, July 17th for printing purposes. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words. All students should use the Abstract Form link below to submit an abstract. You must have a blazerid to access the form. If you do not have a blazerid ask a fellow UAB student, your mentor, or your program director for help accessing the form.
Abstract Form Due noon, Friday, July 17th.
POSTERS
All posters must be 36" x 48". The students and/or their Summer Research Program will be responsible for the printing of the posters.

INSTRUCTIONS TO JUDGES
Thank you for taking the time to participate in this valuable educational experience for potential UAB graduate students.
Please rank the students’ presentations and their posters by using the questions and then circling a number on Likert-type scales on the evaluation sheets (1 = poor, 7 = outstanding). Click here for a PDF of the judges' evaluation sheet.
Be sure to write the number of the poster in the upper left-hand corner of the evaluation sheet.
Any additional comments or suggestions that you have for the individual posters and students may be written in the General Comments section at the bottom of the evaluation sheet.
There are no ties in this competition. Please write first, second, third, and honorable mention on your evaluation sheets for the respective winning posters, and return all sheets to a poster session representative. The representative will then tally the judges’ rankings for your session and hand out the award ribbons.
Thank you again for your time and expertise. If you have any questions, please see a poster session staffer at the registration table.
