UAB allows you to pay tuition and fees either in entirety at the time of registration or distributed between two deadlines. You must pay a minimum of 50 percent of tuition and fees by the first payment deadline. The remaining balance must be paid on or before the final payment deadline as outlined in the class schedule. (Check the current class schedule for deadline dates.) Additional charges will be added if payment is not received by the deadline.
Your VA educational benefits are mailed or deposited in your account monthly. Therefore, you will not receive your funds in time to use them for tuition payment either at registration or at the first deadline, when 50% of tuition and fees are due. Your VA educational benefits still may not have arrived by the final payment deadline. Therefore, you should make your own arrangements to pay at least the first semester charges when the bill is due. You may consider requesting advanced payment of VA educational benefits to assist you with paying your bill; however, restrictions may apply.
