UAB Safe Zone Volunteer Training

Safe Zone logo

The UAB Safe Zone Program is an established, visible network of trained faculty, staff, and students who provide confidential support, assistance, and reliable information to other faculty, staff, and students regarding issues related to sexual orientation. Following the training, participants who agree to be volunteers are identified by a Safe Zone decal displayed on their office doors.

Based on UAB's commitment to the value of diversity, the training for the UAB Safe Zone Program is provided by Dr. Glenda Elliot, a licensed professional counselor, and a team of Safe Zone volunteers.

The training session is sponsored by the UAB Office of Training & Development, and is being offered as a professional growth course.
