The UAB International Mentoring Program is a Leadership Program designed to provide ongoing assistance to new and existing undergraduate and graduate students as they adjust to UAB, the Birmingham community, and the United States.
International Mentors help out with the International Student Information Sessions, assist with retention efforts, and introduce students to departmental, campus, and community resources. They will also implement activities (picnic, parties, trips, etc.) for new international students.
International Mentors will be trained on cross-cultural communication skills, orientation resources, leadership, and program expectations.
