Being involved in your student's success doesn't stop once he or she comes to UAB. But it can be a challenge when your child is on campus and you're at home. Now you're invited to join a special organization designed to connect you with the university - the UAB Parents Association.
The Parents Association provides you with the contacts, support and information you need to enrich your student's UAB experience. It serves as a crucial communication line, constantly keeping you updated on news, deadlines, and opportunities affecting your child while gathering your feedback to help UAB evolve and improve.
More importantly, joining the association makes you part of a vibrant community - almost like an extended family. You'll be able to interact with hundreds of other parents who share your interests and concerns. Plus, the association will show you how and where you can make a difference by getting involved at UAB and supporting your child's activities. Whether you're a volunteer, a fan at an athletic event, or a donor to the Student Life Fund, your support strengthens UAB - and the quality of the collegiate experience of your son or daughter.

The Student Life Fund
The Student Life Fund, funded by UAB Parents Association members in cooperation with corporations interested in enhancing student life, will fund a wide-range of extra-curricular and co-curricular opportunities for UAB students that are designed to enhance and diversify the learning experiences of UAB students. Gifts to the Student Life Fund benefit current UAB students by providing resources for programs that are not funded by state assistance or tuition dollars. Student Life Funding areas include (but are not limited to) opportunities such as:
- Leadership Foundations
- International Mentors
- Co-Curricular Learning Grants
- Peer Educator Programs
- Into the Streets (community service days)
- Student Recognition Programs
- Summer Service Trips
- Orientation Leader, Ambassador, and TrailBlazer Training Programs
