ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ENTERING FRESHMEN:

High school seniors/entering freshmen are automatically considered for all university-wide academic scholarships once they are accepted to UAB. Merit scholarships are awarded on a first come-first served basis to eligible entering freshmen. Students who wish to be considered for merit scholarships should postmark the undergraduate application and all supporting credentials (official transcript and official ACT and/or SAT scores) by December 1 of the senior year in high school (May 1 for out-of-state residents).  Admission applications completed after December 1 of the senior year will be considered on a funds-available basis.  Apply on-line at www.uab.edu/apply.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS:

New students, who are transferring from a 2-year community college, are automatically considered for all university-wide academic scholarships upon admission to UAB.  Students must be admitted to UAB by March 1 for the upcoming summer or fall semester in order to be considered for an academic scholarship.  All scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, as funds are available.  Apply on-line at www.uab.edu/apply

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CURRENT UAB STUDENTS:

The university-wide scholarship application for currently enrolled students is available in the Financial Aid Office from October to February of every year.  All applications and supporting documentation must be submitted by February 1 for consideration.  Most scholarships are awarded in the spring term and go into effect the following academic year.  For a complete list of UAB scholarships, please visit the link below.
