What is the First Year Experience (FYE)?
UAB's First Year Experience is a combination of programs, courses and support services designed to better insure that entering first year students are successful inside and outside of the classroom.
How does the FYE affect my course schedule?
FYE courses are designed to address common issues for new college freshmen. Each course is unique in content, but shares common goals. You should complete the course with a better understanding of UAB, your personal and academic goals, and various skills fundamental for academic success at the collegiate level. It is also our hope that at the completion of the course you will have begun to develop new and lasting friendships with your fellow FYE classmates.
